In shamanic traditions throughout the world there is the experience of dismemberment. In the spirit state a person may be ripped apart or if the person thinks too much his/her head may be eaten or… While the dismemberment process may be a very scary experience, what follows is a process or rememberment and renewal as the spirits recreate the body, head, etc. In the end this is a process of renewal and healing.
